Raincoast Trading
Wild Skipjack Tuna - With Sea Salt
If you're looking for a delicious taste of sustainable fish, try Raincoast Trading's Wild Skipjack Tuna with Sea Salt. Each skipjack tuna is caught one at a time by local Maldives fishers using a pole and line.
A fishing family founded Raincoast Trading back in 1995. The reason? They wanted their high-quality local products to be accessible to more people. Equally important, they wanted to show consumers accustomed to low-quality, imported canned products that there was a different way to enjoy fish, a way that was both delicious and sustainable. Raincoast Trading single-cooks their seafood and packs it in its natural fish oils, giving it a rich, dense flavour and loads of extra nutrition. St. Jean’s Cannery and Smokehouse is the principal packer. It’s the last remaining dedicated seafood cannery in British Columbia and it focuses on local, sustainable seafood products. The Nuu-chah-nulth, a group of west coast First Nations, have owned the majority of the cannery since 2015.
